Network Theory

There is a subtle premise in much of network thinking which is that we cannot think of social organization as taking place from the interaction of atonomous independent actors. This is an excellent discussion of the issue.
This is an overview of the theoretical direction of social network research.
Even at ISNAE, Social Network Analysis is not an end in itself. The point is to better understand the social world in which we are enmeshed. This article discusses this relationship.
Harrison White is a major influence on modern network analysis. This is his most comprehensive work. A new edition will be out in March 2008.
